The KIPP Foundation will provide curriculum implementation assistance to regions using the Amplify Science during the 2019-2020 school year through small, regionally aligned Amplify Learning Communities. These communities will serve as the main source of KIPP Foundation implementation assistance, coaching, and communication throughout the year.
KIPP Foundation recommends that each region appoints at least one instructional coach/regional content leader to participate in an Amplify Learning Community. Regions may have more than one participant if they would like and each participant can select the grade-level band they want to partake in: K-4 only, 5-8 only, or all K-8. The participant should be someone who can coach, lead, or facilitate change within their region for Amplify. An instructional leader or regional science leader would be a great fit.
Who Leads The ALCs?
Every Amplify Learning Community (ALC) will be led by one KIPP Science Leader from the network. These leaders have shown a track record of results and currently serve on the KIPP Foundation Science Leadership Team. Each leader will serve as a thought partner/advisor to the regions in their Amplify Learning Community. Each participant will be grouped according to their grade preference and geographic location.
ALC’s will meet virtually once a month, and 1-2 times in-person on our Science Regional Leader Trip. All ALC participants will receive partial funding from KF to attend in either October or Dec/January.
Monthly calls will focus on the following:
What about ALC site visits? We will determine availability and funding for site visits after registration.
